Kinja'd!!!

Essentially, my childhood boils down to this, a bunch of old video games - I found our old Sega Mega Drive up there - and enough Lego to destroy the feet of several large-ish towns. (Grubby toy cars below.)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

(Yeah, I think my Dad was big on the Porches. The Millennium Falcons were all me, though.)

(The Renault 5 Turbo's a little more my speed, and I know there's a 205 up there somewhere...)

There are a lot more up there, but this post's already stuffed with pictures. I suppose I'm trying to compensate for all the missed commenting opportunities brought on by the .giftrolls.

No heroic accolades for me, I'm afraid; I'm European. I do still like my French cars, though.

Wow! This is quite the selection. Mind if I share this to LaLD ? Someone else would have to give you authorship there, but the least I could do is share it there.

Some people have made multi-part posts of their collections, so you could make this part 1, then make parts 2, 3, etc. with new posts.

Edit: Never mind, someone already did.

Those thunderbirds toys though, thuderbird 2 with the submarine inside it was amazing to me as a child. Shared it to live and let die cast too, thought the guys on there would get a kick out of this.

I suppose I'll have to put together a part 2 at some point, then! Thanks for the offer.

Thanks! Yeah, I've always been a bit of a Thunderbirds fanatic. I had Tracy Island, all the Thunderbirds - in Tracy Island scale and larger - and a bunch of miscellaneous toys. It's a shame I didn't think to take pictures of all the videos - cassettes - we're getting rid of; there's masses of Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Stingray.

I couldn't afford the tracy island but always wanted it. Managed to get most of the thunderbirds except that space station one (6?) in the same scale. Wonder where they ended up, haven't seen them in years. I had a big collection of tapes I'd recorded from tv too.

It, like pretty much all gigantic kids' toys, was fucking crazy expensive. I've no idea how my parents managed to afford it. The space station was 5; 6 was a biplane.

Yeah I remember it being way more than all of the models in that scale combined so I got the models instead. Just remembered they did a relatively recent movie based on thunderbirds that had different toys and I got a couple of those too. Guna have to find them to hand down to my little brother.

Thunderbird 2 was always my favorite! One of my friends had it and whenever I was at his house that is always what I would play with.

Ah the Matchbox RR Silver Spirit, I remember that casting.

What's the black ~1970 MB?

I'm not! I'm not the greatest Vauxhall fan. (And, by that, I mean that, with one or two exceptions, I wouldn't have a Vauxhall if they paid me.) It is a cool model, though; I've actually got two.

I do actually have two childhood toy cars from the marque that would later furnish me with my current, actual car, but - irritatingly - one's kinda broken, and the other somehow managed to disappear between my finding it in the loft, and deciding to take pictures.)

It's a 280SE, from the Bond films—Octopussy, specifically. Roger Moore nicked it off some Russian General, and then drove it around on some train tracks.

Very cool I remember the car in the film. I take it that is a later issue special edition tied to Bond films?

Indeed. The tyres are removable, for maximum train-car authenticity, and there are mock bullet holes in the bootlid.
